Upgrade components can be placed in equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at least upgraded to the blue level in order for the component to be used. A prefix or suffix may be added to an upgrade, which alters the name of the item it is used on (for example 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' is changed to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor).
