Many of these symptoms are common and can be easily treated with medication. There are other reasons that can cause this condition. Inattention It is now known that ADHD symptoms are stable in time. However, many important questions remain regarding the development of these traits. It is not clear how the two systems of inhibition and attention interact. The current study examines the role of inattention and behavioral inhibition in the process of predicting and stabilizing ADHD symptoms. We test the hypothesis that these two systems play the capacity to play a role in a complementar way. To prove this we examined the longitudinal stability of ADHD symptoms from 54 months of age until the beginning of the third grade. Our findings show that attention deficits and behavioral inhibition are linked to ADHD symptoms. However, the correlation between the two factors was moderated by inattention. This may be important for children at preschool age who have to learn how to control their behavior. Performance-based tests are one method to assess attention. These tests aren't correlated with rating scales. Therefore, this kind of study does not offer an accurate test of the predictive power of this test. It is possible to evaluate the impact of inattention and behavioral inhibition in a single study. However, it would be more precise and accurate to employ a more precise measure. A larger sample size would be more advantageous. Hyperactivity Hyperactivity is a frequent symptom in the condition known as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
