To evaluate the impact of a real-time visual feedback device on Chest comparison (CCs) rate and depth delivered by healthcare professionals. In a simulated scenario a sensor was placed on a manikin's chest and connected to a defibrillator which provided real-time visual feedback on the rate and depth of CCs. Thirty-two healthcare professionals performed sequentially 5 cycles of 30 CCs without (FeedOFF) and with (FeedON) feedback. CCs with a depth between 50 and 60mm and a rate between 100 and 120cpm were considered optimal. Visual feedback resulted in a significant increase in the proportion of CCs with optimal depth (median 8.7 [interquartile range 0.7-55.5]% FeedOFF vs 63.3 [17.6-88.1]% FeedON, p=0.002) and optimal rate (median 51.3 [1.3 - 81.3]% FeedOFF vs 68.3 [45.3 - 86.1]% FeedON, =0.018). The aim of this study was to examine the correlations between body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) and semen parameters (semen volume, sperm count, motility, and morphology) and sex hormones in Iranian men with infertility. In this cross-sectional study, a total of 119 male patients who had lived as a partner in an infertile couple for at least 1 year, after regular unprotected sexual intercourse in their married life were investigated. BMI and WC were assessed, and a morning blood sample was taken assessing serum levels of testosterone (T), sex hormone-binding globulin (SHBG), prolactin (PRL), luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E2) and leptin. Based on BMI and WC, the sperm count, total motility and progressive sperm were significantly lower in overweight and obese infertile males compared to that in normal weight infertile males and those with WC<102 cm. In addition, the fraction of sperm with abnormaland obesity in infertile men compared to those with normal weight may worsen the infertility situation.The aim of the present study was to develop rapid qualitative and quantitative methods based on the use of Real-Time PCR and Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR), in order to have reliable techniques to detect and quantify Campylobacter spp. in food samples. The gene 16S-rRNA was used as specific target for Campylobacter spp. Real- Time PCR evaluation assay and a not competitive internal control was ushered in it. To investigate the selectivity of the method, 26 Campylobacter strains and 40 non-Campylobacter strains were tested and in order to verify the application of Real- Time PCR method, 5 pork meat samples were experimentally inoculated with a Campylobacter jejuni strain. Subsequently, dilutions with a bacterial load of Campylobacter jejuni within 10-106 CFU/mL were chosen for the optimization of the ddPCR assay. Lastly, a total of 54 naturally contaminated foods samples were analyzed through molecular (Real-Time PCR and ddPCR) and traditional methods. The Real-Time PCR protocol demonstrated to amplify only the Campylobacter spp. strains and when Campylobacter jejuni was experimentally inoculated in meat samples the pathogen was always detected. The ddPCRs assay allowed to quantify a level of contamination of 10 CFU/mL, but it was unable to quantify levels of 105 - 106 CFU/mL. Lastly, Campylobacter spp. was never detected in the 54 samples tested. In conclusion, the novel analytic approach proposed, based on an initial screening of the samples with Real-Time PCR and then on quantification of Campylobacter spp. with a ddPCR on those positive, represents a quick monitoring tool and, if used correctly, it would allow the implementation of food safety. We conducted a literature review to identify recent guidelines and other publications describing patients with plaque psoriasis in Africa and the Middle East. An online literature search of the PubMed database was conducted to identify publications reporting clinical guidelines and research studies on plaque psoriasis. The search included all articles published from January 2008 to March 2020 inclusive. The titles and abstracts of all search results were screened by a reader to identify those that described patients in Africa or the Middle East. A total of 145 publications were identified by the literature search and screened by a reader.
