French Door Refrigerator With Ice Maker Review French-door refrigerators are a perfect blend of functionality and form. They come with stylish double doors that show the large fridge on top, and a freezer drawer beneath. Special features like through-the-door dispensers, ice machines with higher-end features and flex drawers that can be customized make them stand out from the rest. We consulted Ladina Schopf - an interior designer, architect, and founder of LS Projects - for her suggestions on how to pick the best one. They considered the storage capacity, layout, and energy efficiency, among other features. GE Profile Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Like its name implies, GE’s Profile series is targeted at consumers who want to integrate cutting-edge features in their kitchen. This refrigerator has it all from the Keurig K cup coffee maker on the door to a smart dispenser of water. But these flourishes don't mask mediocre performance, especially in the refrigerator's freezer and an ineffective temperature-controlled drawer. This refrigerator is costly, so I expected better. Other than that the fridge is a great choice. It has a large freezer compartment, which is unusual for counter-depth French door fridges. It also has a large capacity for frozen food, which is a big difference from other models. The fridge is equipped with 17 shelves and compartments. The fridge compartment offers 18.5 cubic feet of space, which is about what you would expect from an French door fridge costing this much. It also has a decent sized ice maker packed into the left door, but it isn't the largest I've seen. You can adjust the shelving in both compartments to create customized storage layout for what you want to keep. The interior design of the GE PYE22PYNFS is attractive, too. Its LED lighting is a nice touch and the inside storage bins come with a third shelf that folds up beneath itself to make it possible to store items that are tall. The drawers come with temperature controls so you can set them to Beverage, Meat, or Deli settings. They're easy to open and close, although I found their textured plastic coatings to be a little difficult on the fingers. The GE PGE29BYTFS Smart Refrigerator is equipped with a full suite of features you'd expect from a refrigerator at this price with Wi-Fi and app support via GE's SmartHQ software. The app, available for iOS and Android devices, lets you control your fridge from anywhere in the world, and has numerous options for customization. It also alerts you when a door is left open, when your fridge or freezer needs to be defrosted and when it's time to change the filter. It would be nice to have GE PYE22PYNFS offered Precise fill which is a feature that is available in a few GE refrigerators that allows users to choose the number of cups they would like to pour out. It does have a countdown feature on the fridge's display to display how much water have remaining, but that's not as effective as Precise fill. Bosch Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator Created to appear as a seamless element of your kitchen Bosch's French-door refrigerator looks seamless and is an eye-catching piece. The fridge uses fingerprint-resistant stainless steel, which is a great feature for busy households. It also features a veggie compartment that keeps vegetables and fruits fresher for longer, and two compressors for preserving food. The ice maker is one of the best we've ever tested and produces pyramid-shaped ice that is low in use of water. This fridge is ideal for a single family or a kitchenette with an attractive design and top of the highest quality food preservation. This refrigerator was rated as the best in our Refrigerators Test for a variety of reasons. The temperature of the freezer remained stable at just above 0 degrees Fahrenheit, and never changing more than a fraction of an inch. This is essential to preventing freezing burn. The fridge section of the fridge also performed well. It reached the temperature it was set within a matter of hours, and remained at that temperature throughout our testing. Bosch is a household name for its high-end appliances. Therefore, it's no surprise that the Bosch counter depth refrigerator can be connected to your home Wi Fi and Bosch's Home Connect. This app allows you to control and monitor your refrigerator remotely from your smartphone or tablet. The refrigerator is expensive, but it comes with top-quality features and functions for the price. It is crucial to be aware of the limitations of the fridge. It has a small shelf space, which means you may require some creativity when storing tall objects. Also the shelves aren't impervious to sprills and could be stained or damaged by sharp objects. The trays are easily removed from the refrigerator. However, they must be cleaned frequently to stop the growth of mold. If you're thinking of buying this refrigerator, be sure to review our opinions on the GE Appliances French Door Refrigerator and the Bosch Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. LG Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator The LG LRFLC2706S counter-depth refrigerator is a great option for those who need plenty of space in an extremely compact frame. It has a sleek, fingerprint-resistant stainless-steel finish and features thick handles that make them comfortable to grip. The fridge has the standard French door design, and two rows of spill-capture shelving and a set of crisper drawers. The top shelf on the right can be folded down to make space for tall items. There's also a full-width storage drawer for deli items and an internal water dispenser. One of the great features of this refrigerator is that its Ice maker is located in the freezer, making it easy to move the ice to the refrigerator to use as required. The freezer also features thoughtful design features, like sliding drawers that allow you to sort your things. It also has a large container for storing frozen food, and a separate one for ice. Smart InstaView panel is a cool feature of the refrigerator. It allows you to control the fridge's temperature and lighting using your smartphone. It's an easy way to keep track of your refrigerator and control it, especially when you're away from home. The Smart InstaView feature is neat, but it doesn't necessarily improve the performance of the fridge. In fact it took longer to defrost and chill foods in this fridge than some of the others we test. https://templeton-cabrera-2.hubstack.net/12-facts-about-french-fridge-door-to-make-you-look-smart-around-other-people is likely due to the larger capacity. The doors are another problem with this fridge. They have sunken handles at the front, which allows shorter people to easily open them from the bottom, however they're difficult for taller people to guide closed without slamming them. It would have been much better if they came with a front-mounted handle. The LG Counter-Depth MAX fridge is an excellent choice for those looking to combine the look of a French door refrigerator with more efficient design. Its capacity is higher than average for counter-depth models, and it cools evenly. It's also a bit less than the top counter-depth refrigerators that have an ice maker, which helps make it a desirable choice. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator If you're looking for a French door refrigerator that won't cost a fortune, this Frigidaire is a good choice. It's a basic refrigerator which may not be as appealing as its rivals however, it does have enough features to make it a an excellent choice. Its most significant feature, the adjustable temperature drawer helps to keep food items such as meat and vegetables fresher for longer. It also comes with a huge ice maker as well as a water dispenser. Another nice feature is the "Chill Drawer" that sits over the two crisper bins. This drawer lets you divert a portion of the refrigerator's cooling power directly into this area, meaning you can keep food items that require special attention. This feature is adjustable using an outside slider that is located inside the drawer. You can also alter the general cooling settings for the entire fridge. I've found that the generic settings are more effective than the specific ones. During my tests, the temperatures of the refrigerator were fairly constant across the different areas of the refrigerator. Temperatures at the top and bottom of the fridge didn't stray much from 38 degrees, and even the middle of the fridge was within one degree of 36. This is a great performance, but it doesn't quite make it into the top ten in our rankings. This fridge has a few other neat features, including a temperature-monitoring display that alerts you to fluctuations and provides a forecast for the day ahead. You can also pair this fridge with a smart thermometer to get more precise measurements of your fridge's internal temperature. The Frigidaire FGHB2866PF's exterior is made of grey-bodied stainless steel that has a "smudge-proof" finish. It is capable of preventing streaks and fingerprints from appearing even when compared with glossy stainless steel finishes on other appliances I've tried.
