Phenotypic differences, high intra-cluster average nucleotide identity (ANI) values and reasonable ANI values along with other Tenacibaculum species support the proposition of a novel species, which is why we suggest title Tenacibaculum piscium sp. nov. with strain TNO020T (=CCUG 73833T=NCIMB 15240T) whilst the type stress. More, large-scale genome analyses confirmed the presence of two different phylogenetic lineages within 'T. finnmarkense', a species effectively not validly published previously. ANI values just above the types delineation limit of 95-96 % confirmed that both lineages fit in with the exact same types. This outcome was also supported by DNA-DNA hybridization values. Phenotypically, the two conspecific lineages tend to be distinguishable by variations in development heat range and power to break down l-proline.
